Today we worked, worked and worked some more! I now have a new appreciation for manual labor and the work that is being done to remodel my new house while I am 1/2 way around the world!
As you can see from the picture above the roof is going up!
| Look at the A-frame ladder they made out of scrap timber |
One of our jobs was to sweep up a pile of rubbish and to move it across the field.
As we were moving it we came across a sock ball
Sock balls are made of, as you guessed, socks rolled together. Kenyan children are satisfied with sock balls while American children are rarely satisfied with
all the bells and whistles...
We took a lunch break to enjoy some of Jennifer's delicious banana fritters & mandasis- a pastry puff.
On our way home from a hard day's work we stopped off at the ARI school to catch the younger children before they were dismissed for the day.
No sooner had we gotten the door open than the kids were reaching for us and pulling us out of the van!
I could have eaten this one with a spoon!
My buddy Jackson and I joining hands with precious Kenyan hands!
Too cute for words!
Mackenzie and Jackson telling the littles goodbye- kindergarten through 3rd grade students go home by bus in the afternoon. 4th through 8th graders are boarded.
Here Dee Dee and I are sorting through all the gifts we brought as a team to give away this week!
