This morning we woke up to rainy overcast skies. It was so cold you could see your breath.
We attended church at St. Luke. This small church was located just off the main road on a beaten path, tucked in a cornfield.
They beat this metal tire rim to signal church time.
The young people performing a song.
They sit on these wooden benches for long periods of time. Today's service lasted around 3 hours.
One observation I made from today was that the women, men and children all sit in separate areas. This was once a common practice in American churches, but rarely observed today.
At the conclusion of the offering these goods that people had brought as their offering were auctioned off. This week team members were presents with cookies, cups of tea, bananas, avocados, papaya, watermelon and gourd pumpkins.
At the conclusion of the service we formed a receiving line to greet one another.
Again this church service us refreshments of rice, tree beans with potatoes and a broth.
On our way back to our hotel we stopped by the ARI school just in time for their afternoon worship
The girls singing their hearts out.
A view from the rickety balcony.
Those children know how to join in concert prayer like old time Pentecostals.
