Costa Rica: Day 1

We woke up at o'dark thirty this morning, met at the church and pulled out around 4 am headed for Greensboro- Piedmont Triad airport. Getting into the airport and checked in for our flight went seemlessly! A lot easier than Charlotte- but that might have something to do with how early it was!

Jenny thought it was funny when this TSA agent pulled my book bag aside and searched for something that show up on the scanner. Looking at the X-rays it was obviously my camera strap but he felt the need to wand my bags of unopened candy! He didn't take anything from my bag so I was happy!

First team picture while waiting on our first flight to Atlanta!

We had a short lay over in the Atlanta airport!

Our flight from Atlanta to Costa Rica was just under 4 hours. I watched two movies- Brooklyn and The Charlie Brown movie.

Once we got off the plane in Costa Rica- we had to stand in line forever to get through customs. Valerie was waiting on us at the arrivals area. A storm was waiting on us just as we departed the airport. It's rainy season here in Costa Rica.

We went straight to the hotel from the airport. Our hotel is very nice.

After debriefing with Valerie and getting settled we opted for dinner in the hotel restaurant.
The appetizer - fried avocado and a sweet dipping sauce
Janice's rice and chicken dish
My soup- tasted like tomato bisque with a strong taste of tumeric and cumin. Tostito strips, cheese and avacodo to garnish it with.

Pretty night view of the court yard.

My poor foot was swollen when I took my socks and shoes off. Not sure if it is from the feet issues I've had going on for the last three weeks or the airplane ride- maybe a combination of both? Luckily I had my Epsom salts ready to soak my feet in before bed!
