Israel Day 2

We boarded our flight for Israel around midnight USA time and 7 am Israel time! David, Kelly and I ended up at the very back of the plane! 

 

We were served dinner not too long after take off.

                                        

 

When we arrived in Tel Aviv it was close to 6 pm and the sun was setting!

We got on the bus and headed for Jerusalem to eat dinner and check in at our hotel. The meals are served buffet style at the hotel and everything was delicious.

After dinner we checked into our rooms and some of us went on a walking excursion through old Jerusalem to the Western Wall also known as the Wailing Wall. This is a very sacred place for the Jews to come and pray. They wash their hands before entering. They are also dressed in their very best. The women and the men have to pray on separate sides. They pray, meditate and read the Torah. 

Tomorrow is our first busy day of touring! We are going to Bethlehem and the

Holocaust museum.
