ARI School & First meeting the kids..

Saturday, June 29th

Misheck & his wife Jenifer live in a house to the side of the house. The house is relatively new. Last time the team was here 3 years ago they actually helped build the house and plant trees & shrubs.

Dee Dee with a tree she planted.

 Keith with a banana tree.
Knocking to see if Jennifer is ready for us!

View from the 2nd story balcony.
Lunch is served.

Jennifer served us a delicious lunch. Lunch was rice, a bean kind of a mix between red beans and pintos, mashed potatoes, peas mixed with carrots and stewed cabbage. Bread with red plum jam was also served. I might have to bring some red plum jelly home with me.

We could hardly eat fast enough to get outside to meet the children.

Team member Meredith greeting the children.
Jackson playing one of several games of chase with the children.

The children were enamored with "white people hair". They would run up behind you and "tag" your hair before running away giggling. Before I left they grabbed my face and started pulling my baseball cap just to see "all your beautiful hair."

The kids love to grab tires and roll them.
Jackson playing ball with the kids. The ball was made of plastic bags wound tightly together.

They were proud to show us their classrooms!

MacKenzie made fast friends with the girls!
The children were eager to show us their dorms... Rows of bunk beds line the room... On the top bunk a metal trunk holds their belongings. Below is their bed.

So fascinated with Connie's red long hair...

Like every American child ... attracted to Scott's ipad!

On this afternoon we caught them between doing their laundry and choir rehearsal for tomorrow morning's service.

We cannot wait to go back in the morning and worship with them.
