Our second outreach was with the Esperanza Orphanage. There is not a foster system in Bolivia. Many of the orphans were taken from their families because of parents’ drug/alcohol addictions and or neglect. There were a little over 40 orphans we ministered to today.
Our team with two wonderful ladies, Ana Clau and Vanessa of Genesis Cochabamba.
We started with the craft activity - which again was a big hit!
Pastor Greg using translate on his phone to communicate with the kids!
Filling the rest of the stockings!
It’s gift time!
They gave us an ornament as a thank you!❤️
We had a short time to rest and refresh before we returned to the church for their New Year’s Eve service. They did a NYE service Friday night instead of Sunday because of people traveling and celebrating NYE!
We served upstairs doing children’s ministry.
Nick shared a message for New Year’s on becoming a new creation in Christ. We did a butterfly craft with them - illustrating how the butterfly changes.
Kara demonstrating the butterfly antennas.
We went downstairs for the end of the service. Pastor Greg was preaching and then we joined the praise team for two songs at the end.
After service some of the church members wanted to take us out to eat traditional Bolivian food for fellowship.
This is called Bolivian anticucho- beef heart. It was actually quite tastey.
