Samaritans Feet

When I returned from Africa a friend at church approached me about a missions project she was interested in doing. She was looking at going to Nicaragua in November to work with Samaritans Feet. This sounded like a great opportunity but I couldn't see logistically how I would take a week or more off from school to do this.

Last night I was on Facebook posting about the cool temperatures reminding me of Kenya when a Kenya teammate Connie popped up. She asked me what I was doing today and if I wanted to put shoes on kid's feet. I hesitantly thought about my schedule and said yes. She went on to tell me "it's a program called Samaritans Feet". Talk about another divine appointment! I knew God had dropped this opportunity in my path "for such a time as this."

"God doesn't place a desire to do ministry in our hearts without providing an opportunity." All he is looking for is our availability.

I woke up to overcast skies but even the rain couldn't dampen my spirits!

Over 500 pairs of shoes ready to be given away.
My favorite part of the day was seeing Shady Brook babies!
