Stereotypically teachers are known for being frumpy dressers! I blame this largely on dress codes- nevertheless the stereotype is what it is! Thankfully long gone are the days (at least at my school) of wearing ridiculous denim jumpers and gaudy teacher costume jewelry. I have always vowed never to be one of those stereotypical dressers. Fashion is essential- but not at the cost of comfort--- I'm always on the look for comfort... check out one of my latest finds...
Today I threw on a new dress

and a new necklace
the shoes I already had

My outfit cost maybe $30 altogether but based on the comments I got from faculty and students alike you would have thought I was dressed to the nines and had spent a pretty penny on my attire. The dress was $24.99 at Target and the necklace was $5.99 at www.sammoon.com (AWESOME jewelry at really inexpensive prices)
My students had this to say, "Miss Dancy! Why are you wearing a formal dress?" (this was a cotton knit dress- anything but formal) "Where are you going dressed like that?" "You look like an hour glass- your figure that is!" "You're too jointy. You know, so skinny we can see your joints."
My principal, "When I walked in your classroom, I had to do a double take at your outfit. Of course I mean that in a nice way."
See! It is possible to dress fashionable and have comfort at the same time!
