Israel Day 8

Our last day in Israel!

We checked out of our hotel and headed for Nazareth.

Mount of Transfiguration- Mt. Tabor Matthew 17

From there we headed towards Church of the Annunciation- a church that now sits atop the home Mary shared with her parents. This is where Mary was visited by the angel and told she would give birth to the Messiah. Mary lived close by to Joseph. When she married Joseph, she only moved around the corner.

Below is the ceiling inside the entrance.

Perhaps this is the spot the Angel greeted Mary.

This mural was a gift from the USA.

Before leaving Nazareth we went to Joseph’s church which is the site of Joseph and Mary’s home where Jesus would have been reared. Joseph died some time after Jesus was 12, because we know he went to the temple with him. Jesus had 4 younger brothers and 2 sisters. Rome collected taxes and did a census, therefore they know the locations of where they truly lived.

                                                        The foundation of the home.

On to the Valley of Armageddon at Magiddo. Revelation 16:16, Revelation 19

The armies of this world will be defeated in this valley.

Mt. Caramel. Baal’s 450 false prophets tested Elijah. Elijah called down fire from heaven. Elijah represents the belief in a single God. 1 King 18.

It was very windy atop Mt. Caramel!
