Carving Tradition

For the last 4 years I have had a pumpkin carving tradition with the Edwards crew. Though life has been busy the past few months and we haven't spent much time together, Ayden insisted that we get together to carve pumpkins and I'm so glad he did.

Cleaning out the goop- Ayden has definitely gotten  more hands on over the past few years.

Ayden insisted that his jack-o-lantern have triangle eyes, and I insisted his grin matched Ayden's snaggle toothed grin!

I'd say our carving adventure was a success!

Taking a Stroll Down Memory Lane

Now that I work at my elementary alma matar I love to reminisce back over my own elementary school days. Although it's the same school, same location the original building I attended school in has been replaced with a newer building. Today was a workday marking the end of our first quarter of school. One of our secretaries was cleaning out and organizing. She came across some old scrapbooks- what a field day for me!

Mom came to eat lunch with me- this was special because Mom taught 3rd grade at another school across town so it wasn't often that she was able to eat lunch with me.

What's in a Name?

Since the beginning of school I have seen every student at my school as they've rotated through the Computer Lab during specials. This is a new experience for me as I'm used to being a classroom teacher and knowing 20 or so students at a personal level and the rest of the grade level students by name. When I took the position as Technology Integration Specialist I never planned on being full time in the lab and wasn't too sold on the idea when my principal told me I would be starting the first 6 weeks of school in the lab. Looking back- I'm glad I had the opportunity as it allowed me to get to know the students of my school and build a repor with the teachers. By no means do I claim to know every single student by name, but I do have a pretty good grasp on faces and names by this point. Perhaps the most eye opening experience for me was the drastic difference in the abilities of Kindergarteners vs. 4th graders. Those little Kindergarteners have quickly won my heart, specifically a few of them. Their interpretation of my last name has made for many "kicks and giggles". Out of Dancy, I've gotten "Ms Bancy!" "Ms Daisy!" "Ms Nancy!" and perhaps my favorite from a cutie patootie "Ms Yancy!".

Sneak Peak!

Here's a sneak peak at the Twinnies! Aunt Jilly is getting a little excited! As of today when these 4d ultrasound pictures were taken they are a little over half-way done baking at 21 weeks! I think Twin A is going to be our cheerleader! Tyler said it looks as though they are laying head to head and breech in position. My favorite quote/text of the day was from Emerald, "So, are they fraternal or maternal?"... Well that's fraternal or identical... and they are fraternal in 2 different sacks!
